In May of 2006, Bentall Capital, on behalf of a major Canadian-based pension fund client (bcIMC Realty Corporation) , purchased the Evergreen Building with a plan to restore it and re-introduce it to a local office market experiencing an impending shortage of office space.

A renovation of substantial proportion was performed, balancing state of the art tenant comfort with sensitivity to the building’s history. Now completed, the Evergreen Building has assumed its deserved acknowledgment as the most unique office locale in the City, given:

  • its location on the Coal Harbour waterfront, adjacent to City centre, transit, hotels, restaurants, shopping, the Seawall and Stanley Park 
  • panoramic, unimpeded views overlooking Coal Harbour Park
  • multiple private terraces providing outdoor access
  • rejuvenated and updated base building systems
  • renewed and dramatically enhanced common areas
  • renovation and on-going property management by Bentall Real Estate Services, the pre-eminent manager of commercial real estate in Canada, and NAIOP’s 2006 “Developer of the Year “ for North America.

With its future now secure, The Evergreen Building has been provided Heritage status by the City of Vancouver. The building now provides one of the most spectacular and unique office environments in the City of Vancouver.
